Pranam,
I am a native Hindi speaker, born and raised in India, with a deep-rooted passion for the Hindi language. Having received extensive schooling in Hindi, I am dedicated to sharing its beauty and nuances with young learners. My teaching approach is tailored for non-native speakers and those learning Hindi as a second language, focusing on making the learning process enjoyable and effective.
As a mother of two elementary school-aged children, I understand the importance of patience, creativity, and adaptability in teaching young minds. This perspective allows me to design lessons that are both engaging and accessible, fostering a love for Hindi language in my students. Over the years, I have curated an extensive collection of learning materials, including flashcards, puzzles, charts, worksheets, and over 200 Hindi children's literature books.
After completing my schooling and undergraduate studies in India, I pursued an MBA in Aberdeen, Scotland. With over six years in banking and finance, I transitioned to the U.S., where I earned a paralegal degree and managed a law firm. Currently, I channel my diverse experiences into meaningful community service, embracing the joys and challenges of motherhood while giving back to my community. I work and volunteer as a:
STEM Arts Specialist Teacher at the Mountain View Whisman School District, Moutain View
Volunteer Hindi Language Teacher at the Jain Center of Northern California (JCNC), Milpitas
Volunteer Marketing & Advertising Manager for the Old Mountain View Neighborhood Association, serving on the steering committee
Volunteer Lead Organizer of the Math Olympiad at my Landels Elementary School
Personal Interests
I cherish spending quality time with my family through long walks, beach outings, and gardening sessions. Additionally, I am trained in Ayurvedic cooking, focusing on traditional methods, nutrition and holistic wellness, which I integrate into daily life to promote overall well-being. When I am not in the kitchen, you can find me staying active with a game of table tennis, a friendly badminton match, or skipping my way through a jump rope session.
